Autographs by Mail asks: How do I add music to my blog?
There are two different approaches to adding music to your blog.
Hosting the music file
- Upload the music file to a location on the web, such as your google pages account. (Note: blogger/blogspot does not natively offer file storage, so you must have another location you can store the file)
- Provide a direct link to the music file in the form of a text or picture link or follow the tutorial found here to create a player for the music.
- The player can be resized to fit your blog, but the downside is that the player may not perform consistently in different browsers such as Safari or Opera.
Embed a flash player
- Use one of the many different music services, such as Playlist.com, to create a flash music player to embed on your blog.
- Flash players have a more consistent look and functionality accross browsers, and there is a large variety of designs and formats to choose from.
- Most sites also offer an extensive music library to create playlists, so you don't have to host a file.
