Uninstalling iPhone apps

Labels: ,

I downloaded a bunch of free iPhone apps from the app store, and now I want to uninstall them. Do I use itunes, and how can I do it from the iphone itself?

From the iPhone:

  1. Press and hold any icon on your iphone until all of the icons begin to wiggle.

  2. Any icons that now have a black X in the upper left corner are applications that can be uninstalled. Pressing an icon's X will uninstall the application.

  3. Press the home button to return to the normal mode.

If after synching your iPhone with iTunes the applications reappear, check the Applications tab in iTunes to make sure "Synch all" and/or the individual app is not checked off to be synchronized.

Also remember that purchased applications can be redownloaded and installed at any time for free, so don't worry about accidentally deleting an app. Just navigate to the app, press Install, and you will be prompted to redownload.

Thank you for that. I agree sometimes we download things for free and then don't know how to get rid of them.
